*The above list represents most of the varieties grown on Tiny's farm. Not all will appear in the CSA bag at any one time. Generally the mix of fruit and vegetables in the CSA bag is approximately 50/50 fruit and vegetables but may vary one way or the other depending on factors such as weather, crop load, labor availability and quality of the variety being harvested. CSA stands for 'Community Supported Agriculture' (click here for CSA background info) and is a way for people to directly support local farms. Most farms require patrons to provide upfront funding well before the growing season begins to be able to plan for the amount of seed to order and plant. DO I HAVE TO BUY A BAG EVERY WEEK? Yes. Farm families depend on consistent weekly income to pay for labor and and harvest expenses and your commitment guarantees you'll receive organic fruit and veggies picked fresh for you and your family all summer and fall. WHAT'S IN THE BAG? Each bag contains between 11 and 13 varieties of freshly picked organic fruit and vegetables and amounts of each may vary according to what is being harvested on the farm that week. WHAT ABOUT QUALITY? We believe the quality of fruit and veggies in Tiny's CSA bags is excellent and we are very careful about how the bags are packed to ensure you'll be getting the best possible organic experience available. We do, however, allow small blemishes to be included in the bag on all varieties because not all fruit and veggies are created perfectly (or equal) and we believe it is wasteful to throw out anything that is still in excellent physical condition. WHERE DO I PICK UP MY BAG? We have made arrangements for bags to be dropped at various locations in the Seattle/Eastside area. All pickup locations are shown in column to the right. We will post new pickup locations as they become available. Note: some drop sites are restricted to employees who work in a particular building. You may choose to have your bag dropped at any of the unrestricted locations for pick up. WHAT IF I CAN'T PICK UP MY BAG? If you are unable to pick up your bag at the designated time for your drop site, please try to have someone pick it up for you. Bags that are not picked up cannot be left overnight because of the perishable nature of the contents and the bag will be donated to a local food bank. If you plan to be away for a couple of weeks, a good idea is to have a friend or relative take over your bag pickup for the time you are away. DO I NEED TO BRING MY BAG BACK? Make sure to bring back your previous week's bag when you make a pickup at your drop area. If you do not recycle your bag, you will be charged an additional $5. for each bag not returned. WHAT IF I WANT A LARGER BAG? We suggest you double up on the bag, two of which would be suitable for a larger family of good eaters. WHO DO I CONTACT FOR MORE INFO? Call our Seattle location for questions not answered here. The Seattle telephone number is 206.293.0633. As an alternative, you may also email questions to info@TinysOrganic.com. WHAT DOES THE FARM GROW AND WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN THE BAG? Tiny's Farm/Orchard is located in East Wenatchee, WA and we grow over 100 varieties of organic fruit and vegetables. For a more complete list of fruit and veggies and harvest dates, check the varieties page. IS TINY'S A FAMILY RUN FARM? Tiny's Organic is a family farm located in Wenatchee, WA. The day-to-day farm operation is run by Greg McPherson, the CSA Program is run by Erin McPherson and the Farmers Markets are jointly run by John and Jay McPherson. The farm grows more than 60 varieties of fruit and this year has expanded to include a broad spectrum of veggie varieties to the list, including summer and winter squash, several varieties of tomatoes including heirloom varieties, cucumbers, bell peppers, potatoes, kale, onions, salad greens and melons. IS TINY'S LOOKING FOR NEW DROP SITES? Yes! We're very interested in schools, business establishments, community centers, etc as drop sites. If your place of business or location is interested in becoming a drop site give us a call! Our CSA is a great service to offer anyone interested in eating fresh organic food direct from the farm. MEMBER AGREEMENT I agree to participate in Tiny's Organic Farm CSA for the 2010 season. I understand I am making a commitment to purchase and pay for the plan check-marked above. I also understand this is a non-refundable program and if I do not pick up my bag at the designated day and time for any given week, I give permission for Tiny's to donate my bag to a local food bank for that week.
